In the past few weeks I have been toying with DOS (or rather, DOS-compatibles). Thanks to resources such as old-dos.ru and WinWorldPC, I have been able to delve into DOSes more than I'd like to imagine. However, I do want to say that, aside from MS-DOS and PC DOS I have no grasp of any other compatibles. I have heard of DR-DOS, but I have never once quite gotten it to work. Blimey. Now, I have tried Novell DOS — it was a very interesting experience. Too bad I don't like it as much as PC DOS, but that could quite well be my nostalgia. Of course, nothing beats its antivirus (which I swear never caught anything in the time I used it), I'll perhaps follow this post with a more studious write-up regarding DOS; all I want to say is that: DOS is great. It reminds me of a simpler but more chaotic time of computing. I wouldn't say I'll drag myself forcefully to use DOS, but I will have myself try DOS out from time to time. For now, I'll have myself stuck with the millenia's own OS.
